Nick Garcia

Nick Garcia is an avid poi spinner and instructor who loves squeezing those planes and seeing what is poi-ssible with long tethers and slower spinning. He started spinning on New Years of 2011 and has had a hard time putting poi down since. Although he loves spinning, Nick also enjoys being able to help people level up and better understand the potential that awaits all poi artists. His technical approach to his own development has helped Nick learn how to clear the fog in other spinner's heads in order to give them a more complete understanding of the theories and patterns they're moving through.

Poi

Come one, come all! Whether you've been spinning poi for a while or just picking them up for the first time, this class will help pave a clear and exciting path ahead for your poi development.

We'll start at the very beginning where we flail around aimlessly with zero goal and no possible mistakes. Everyone wins, even face shots!

Once that's out of our system, we'll move on to talk about the movement of the poi itself, how that relates to our body, and how it all comes across visually to those watching us.

Tracing is one of the most important and beautiful concepts to grasp when it comes to poi spinning. Learning tracing patterns will force you to clean up your planes, harmonize body movement with poi, and gain greater control over your props.

This class covers intermediate and advanced patterns. No matter how long you've been spinning, I guarantee you will learn plenty.

We will start by talking about what tracing is and what it looks like. This includes the hand positions involved in tracer theory and the possible transitions in between them.

Tosses are a fun way to let go of your poi...and catch them, too! Learning tosses helps relax your flow so that you don't feel so tightened up or constrained while spinning. It's a fun concept to play with that can open up a lot of interesting forms of spinning for you.

This class covers intermediate and advanced patterns. No matter how long you've been spinning, I guarantee you will learn plenty.

We will start by talking about what the main different types of tosses are and go over how they look. This includes no-beat throws and regular tosses.
